For Sale, 4 year old chestnut mare
Horse for sale- Strider
Strider is a ground broke (aprox) 15.1 HH. We don't know much about his past (was rescued at an auction) but he appears to be a quarter horse or QH cross. He is turning 5 this year.
He is very friendly and follows people around the pasture and looks for hugs. He is well mannered and very confident. What makes strider stand out is how bold he is. I have not seen anything scare this horse. When horses around him spook at something he seems to find it curious.
He is attractive and so friendly. I have had an English saddle on him and he has done some basic lunging and free jumping. He loves to jump- he will just go and run over the fences with little direction. I think he would enjoy any discipline. He would be a good 4H pony and because of his temperament he would be great for any kid, once broke (or a kid could break him).
He is being sold to reduce herd size and because I only plan to train ponies this summer.
He also has a sister who is for sale, she is a more refined, feminine version of Strider.
Strider is priced at $1500, OBO.

Skamper
Ellen has a great little bay gelding named Skamper. He is about 13.2 hh (my guess). He was a gift to her, untrained and full of spirit. I know she rode him a bit last summer.
Every time I go out to Goldenwood farms to see him his is so friendly and follows us around the field. We were out there this weekend, showing Setina to an interested family and I asked Ellen if I could work with Skamper. I wanted to see what he could do and if he could learn to be lunged.
Ellen brought Skamper to the arena and I put him on a lunge line. He was so attentive and eager to learn. I started walking him in a circle and moved behind him. He watched me and started moving away from me and walking around me. It is amazing to see how quickly this pony picks things up. I am looking forward to doing groundwork training with him throughout this winter. I will try to get some pictures of him next time I'm out there and post them here.
